Australian Unions Called Off LNG Strikes

Australian labour unions called off strikes at Chevron’s two LNG facilities, after workers accepted the firm’s proposed settlement on Tuesday according to the Offshore Alliance.

  • “In online meetings of members on the Chevron facilities yesterday, Offshore Alliance members have voted 94% in support of an in-principle agreement to suspend Protected Industrial Action whilst members review the proposed EBA’s which lock in key employment conditions and union standards”, the Alliance said on Facebook.
  • Union members will still need to vote on the final agreement.
