Azerbaijan Gas Exports Set to Be Over 24bcm in 2023

Azerbaijan will be increasing gas exports to over 24 billion cubic meters in 2023, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.

  • "We are increasing exports of our gas. Gas exports stood at 19 bcm in 2021. The export volumes will top 24 bcm in 2023, and at least half of that amount will be supplied to Europe," he said.
  • The expansion of gas pipelines' capacity is also being discussed, with TANAP's capacity potentially growing from 16 bcm to 32 bln and TAP pipeline from 10 bcm to 20 bcm.
  • Azerbaijan ramped up its gas exports to 22.3 billion cubic meters in 2022, while supplies to Europe stood at 11.4 bcm (+39%).
