Biden Officially Nominates Jefferson and Kugler For Board Positions

  • Biden has officially picked Gov Philip Jefferson to be promoted to the Vice Chair role and Adrian Kugler to fill the Board position, as recently suggested by various media reports.
  • He will also re-nominate Gov Cook for a full 14-year term having joined last year with her term otherwise expiring in January.
  • Public remarks from Jefferson haven’t strayed too far from FOMC consensus to date, perhaps towards the less hawkish end of the spectrum but still not as dovish as Brainard who’s role his fills after her departure earlier this year.
  • The positions require Senate confirmation.
