UK Data: Borrowing At Its Lowest Year-To-Date Level Since 2007

PSNBX fell by stg0.7bn in September 2017 to stg5.9bn versus 
September 2016, the lowest September net borrowing since 2007. This, 
along with a downward revision to August's borrowing (down to stg4.7bn), 
meant that half-way through the 2017/18 financial year, year-to-date 
borrowing stood at stg32.5bn, stg2.5bn lower than the same period last 
year, the lowest Apr-Sep net borrowing since 2007. VAT and income tax 
receipts rose 3.6% and 5.5% respectively in Sept 17, while corporation 
tax fell 2.2%. Debt interest payments in the first half of the fin year 
were stg4.1bn higher than recorded in the 2016/17 financial year, the 
highest increase since 2011.
