CABLE: Cable stopped short of the 50%/61.8% retracement of the 1.3493-1.3391
move (1.3442-54) in early Asia-Pacific dealing after GBP underperformed on
Monday, with the cross last dealing at 1.3424, off of highs of 1.3438. Support
comes in at the 55-WMA (1.3402) followed by the YtD low registered on Monday
(1.3391)
- GBP traders face a myriad of risk events this week, with the latest round of
Brexit negotiations getting underway on Tuesday. Key BoE policymakers including
Gov. Carney testify to a Tsy Select Committee on Tuesday, with inflation data
due on Wednesday, retail sales due on Thursday & the second Q1 GDP estimate is
due on Friday. Carney will also make 3 further addresses later in the week.
