DOLLAR-CANADA
DOLLAR-CANADA: CAD has failed to extend on Monday's gains against the greenback,
as questions remain re: Canada accepting the bilateral terms hashed out by the
U.S. & Mexico in their trade deal.
- USD/CAD last deals at C$1.2980, ~15 pips higher on the session. Yesterday's
break below C$1.30 has given bears the momentum as the uptrend from the Feb low
has decisively given way, opening the 200-DMA (C$1.2842). Up trendline support
and the 100-DMA (C$1.2995) now act as resistance. A break above C$1.3160 is
needed to turn the outlook bullish and would likely confirm a bull flag
formation.
- Canadian current A/c data due Wednesday & GDP data due Thursday headline the
CA docket this week.
