Canadian crude exports out of US Gulf terminals are expected to soar in October boosted by overseas demand after the production cuts by Saudi Arabia and Russia according to Bloomberg.
- US refinery maintenance is also supporting exports with the typically biggest takers of heavy Canadian crude freeing up more barrels for shipment to Asia and Europe.
- Shipments are expected to see a sixfold jump from September to reach the second highest on record at 11mbbls next month.
- Canadian output has also recovered after the end of the maintenance season at Alberta’s oil fields.
- The Canadian crude last week hit the narrowest discount to Nymex WTI in two months, according to Link Data Services.
