Central Bank Releases Business Perceptions Report

  • USDCLP is opening marginally higher around 782 after closing on Thursday at the lowest level since March 2022. The pair trades within close proximity of the 2022 lows at 771.89. The domestic focus turns to next Tuesday’s trade balance data, followed by the latest CPI figures, scheduled on Wednesday.
  • Chilean firms' perception is that both their businesses and the overall economy are undergoing a process of adjustment, which will continue in the coming months. Most of them comment that they had already factored this scenario into their business decisions. Accordingly, they estimate that the expected drop in economic activity during 2023 should not cause significant disruptions to their usual operations.
