Centre-Left, Action Fall In Poll; Centre-Right Maintains Strong Lead

Latest polling from Quorum-YouTrend shows the centre-left Democratic Party (PD)-led coalition, as well as its former partner the centrist liberal Action party, falling further behind the centre-right coalition ahead of the 25 September election.

  • Quorum-YouTrend election poll by party: Brothers of Italy (FdI): 24.2% (=), PD: 22.3% (-1.1), League (Lega): 14.0% (+0.5), 5-Star Movement (M5S): 10.6% (+0.7), Forza Italia (FI): 8.9% (+0.9), Italian Left/European Green: 3.9% (-0.1), ItalExit: 3.2% (+0.6), Italia Viva: 2.2% (-0.4), Action: 2.0% (-0.8), More Europe (+E): 1.6% (-0.8), Civic Commitment: 1.5% (-0.3).
  • Quorum-YouTrend election poll by coalition: Total centre-right: 48.2%, Total centre-left: 29.3%, M5S: 10.6%, Centrist Pole: 4.8%
    • Fieldwork: 7-8 August, 1,000 respondents (therefore this poll was carried out during the period Calenda withdrew Action from the centre-left coalition, rather than fully in the aftermath of the withdrawal)
  • Centre-right coalition remains on course to win the election, with FdI leader Giorgi Meloni in pole position to become the next prime minister as leader of the largest party in gov't.
