Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt on business investment: says that following the introduction of permanent Full Expensing in the 2023 autumn statement, that the gov't will make full expensing apply to leased assets in upcoming draft legislation.

  • On support for SMEs: GBP200mn in funding to extend Recovery Loan Scheme, increasing VAT registration threshold from GBP85k to GBP90k from 1 Apr
  • On levelling up/regional/national spending: GBP100m for levelling up funding, GBP300mn for Scoland under Barnett formula, GBP170mn for Wales, GBP100mn for Northern Ireland.
