Cheniere & KOSPO Agree SPA to Support Sabine Pass Expansion

Cheniere and Korea Southern Power Co. sign a long-term sale and purchase agreement for ~0.4mtpa of LNG.

  • The SPA agreement is to support the Sabine Pass expansion project and will be delivered to KOSPO on a DES basis from 2027 through 2046. Volumes are subject to a positive final investment decision with respect to the first train.
  • A smaller annual quantity will be starting in 2024.
  • The price prior to 2027 will be market-based and after will be indexed to the Henry Hub plus a fee.
  • The SPL Expansion Project is being designed to include up to three large-scale liquefaction trains, each with a production capacity of approximately 6.5mtpa of LNG.
