Chevron Set to Bring Third Venezuelan Crude Cargo to US

Venezuela’s PDVSA has assigned a third crude cargo for Chevron to import into the US under its authorization from the Biden administration to recover its debt.

  • The first Chevron-chartered tanker carrying Venezuelan oil departed on Tuesday and is set to deliver the crude next week to its Pascagoula, Mississippi, refinery. The second and third tankers also are expected to deliver their cargoes this month.
  • The third cargo will be carried by Chevron-operated vessel Carina Voyager.
  • Chevron is picking up the cargoes via ship-to-ship transfers due to port infrastructure limitations.
