Chevron, Unions Extend Talks to Thursday

Chevron and the unions representing workers at the Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG facilities in Australia made progress in talks over pay and conditions on Wednesday and would meet again on Thursday, a union representative said, cited by Reuters.

  • Both parties met on Wednesday together with a Commissioner from Australia’s industrial arbitrator to negotiate a deal that could avert the restart of industrial action on 19 October.
  • The Offshore Alliance have now made it clear that Protected Industrial Action will commence on Thursday 19th October, should a single Recommendation not be incorporated in full, into our EBA’s, or there is a lack of clarity in any of the terms of the draft Enterprise Agreement(s), it said via Facebook.
