Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno To Hold Presser Shortly

Jiji reports that Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno will hold a press conference at the bottom of the hour after a North Korea flew over Japan and fell into the Pacific Ocean.

  • Japanese authorities said the missile passed overhead and has likely already landed. Residents of northeastern Miyagi, Yamagata and Niigata prefectures were asked to seek shelter.
  • Public broadcaster NHK reports that Japan has set up an emergency meeting team following the missile launch.
