China Independent Refineries Increase Venezuela, Iran, and Russia Crude Imports

China's independent refineries increased imports of crude from Venezuela, Iran, and Russia via the Shandong and Tianjin ports by 32.8% to 8.3m mt in July compared to June according to S&P Global Commodity Insights data.

  • The volume accounted for 79.7% of imports compared with 83.7% in June.
  • The independent refineries run rates were 71% in July up from 68.9% in June according to local information provider JLC.
