China Releases Third Batch of Crude Import Quotas

China has issued a third batch of crude import quotas – raising the total released in the first half of the year to 194.1 million tonnes – up 20% from the same period last year according to Six Reuters sources.

  • Thirty-three companies are receiving 62.28 million tonnes of allotments in this round.
  • It compares to 52.69 million tonnes issued June 2022 and a total of 161.72mn tonnes in the first half of 2022.
  • China's Ministry of Commerce are yet to officially confirm the quotas.
