China September FX Reserves Rise $16.98 Bln to $3.1085 Tln

--8th Straight Monthly Increase
     BEIJING (MNI) - China's foreign-exchange reserves rose in September for the
eighth month in a row, increasing by $16.98 billion to $3.1085 trillion, data
from the People's Bank of China released Monday show. 
     September's rise was significantly larger than the gain of $10.81 billion
seen in August.
     The level of foreign-exchange reserves is now at the highest since October
2016.
