CHINA PRESS: China's GDP growth in the first quarter is likely to remain high at
6.8%, Shanghai Securities News reported on Tuesday, citing analysts. Investment
growth was faster in first quarter while consumption growth slowed, and net
exports continued to grow to support economic growth, said the report, citing
Lian Ping, the chief economist at Bank of Communications. Infrastructure and
manufacturing investment growth rates are expected to rise in March, the report
said, quoting Steven Zhang, the chief economist at Morgan Stanley Huaxin
Securities.
