LNG

China’s imports of LNG stood at 6.65m mt in March, a rise of 11.7% on the month, according to OilChem citing GACC data.

  • The increase in imports was due to rising domestic consumption amid a recovery of fuel gas vehicle and industrial LNG demand, coupled with lower LNG prices, OilChem said.
  • Total Q1 LNG imports into China totalled 19.85m mt, up 21.2% on the year.
  • China’s LNG imports are expected to be up a further 2.29% in April to 6.5m mt, boosted by lower global spot prices.
