China’s Monthly Refinery Output Rises YoY

China’s crude oil throughput in October exceeded 2021 levels for a second straight month, after it lagged last year’s levels between Jan-Aug, data from the National Bureau of Statistics show.

  • China’s crude oil throughput stood at 58.62mn t in October, up by 0.8% year on year.
  • Throughput in the first ten months of this year was at 555.88mn t, 4.5% below last year’s level, amid production drops for the Jan-Aug period this year.
  • Fuel exports by refiners totalled 4.46mn t in October, a 13% year-on-year increase, as the government released a large set of export quotas.
