CNB To Hold Presser After Meeting On Financial Stability

  • CNB Deputy Governor Karina Kubelkova and Financial Stability Department Executive Director Libor Holub will hold a press conference at 14:45BST/15:45CEST after the Bank Board's quarterly meeting on financial stability. They will announce the latest decision on countercyclical buffer and other macroprudential tools. According to the calendar on the central bank's website, the minutes of the meeting alongside the full biannual Financial Stability Report will be published on June 19. At the previous meeting held in March, the Bank Board decided to keep the countercyclical capital buffer unchanged at 2.5%.
  • Czechia's S&P Global Manufacturing PMI stayed at 42.8 in May, exceeding the 41.5 median estimate in a Bloomberg survey. S&P Global commented that "amidst weak sales momentum and competitive pressures, firms cut their selling prices for the first time in just over two-and-a-half years, and at a solid pace."
  • Czechia's May budget balance will be published at 13:00BST/14:00CEST. Fiscal parameters are under close scrutiny as the government is pushing measures to rein in public spending.
