Data from Statistics Poland showed that consumer confidence deteriorated this month, while business confidence indices for most kinds of activities were at a similar or slightly higher level compared to April..

  • Consumer confidence fell 2.3pp to -13.8 in May, with all components printing at lower levels than a month before.
    • "The largest decreases were recorded in evaluations of the current possibility of making important purchases and current economic situation of the country."
  • General business climate indicator stabilised across most components.
    • Entities from the financial and insurance sector were most optimistic (+22.4), while entities from the manufacturing sector were most pessimistic (-6.2).
