Crude and Gasoil Net Long Positions Increase

Managed money net long positions in crude and gasoil increased further last week according to the commitment of traders data released on Friday.

  • Net long positioning of crude has been ticking higher in recent weeks with concerns for tightening global supplies. Recent diesel supply issues in Europe have resulted in an increase in both ICE Gasoil and Nymex diesel net long positions.
  • Nymex WTI net longs increased by +19k to 209k.
  • ICE Brent net longs increased by +16k to 201k.
  • ICE Gasoil increased by +10k to 62k.
  • Nymex diesel increased by +6k to 24k.
  • Nymex gasoline fell by -3k to 53k.
