Czech Firm Plans to Deploy Croatian PPAs

Czech renewable investment firm Woodburn Capital Partners will introduce power purchase agreements (PPAs) to the Croatian market, with PPAs also planned in central, eastern and southern Europe, according to Bloomberg.

  • The power supplied through the PPAs will provided from plants in Stankovci and Brdovec- southern and northern Croatia – and other power plants in its pipeline that have not been announced.
  • The firm announced last summer that it plans to build and operate two solar power plants with a total installed capacity of 13MW in Croatia.
  • The company is also planning a 92.5MW PV farm in Bosnia that will include an on-site Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
  • Woodburn entered its first-ever PPA with international automotive company Magna for a 2.4MW PV farm at one of Magna Bohemia’s factories in the Czech Republic. The agreement is for 15 years.
