RUSSIA
The Russian Defence Ministry has confirmed two 'attempted' attacks on military bases in the Ryazan and Saratov regions, blaming Ukraine for the incidents. State-run Tass reports that three Russian servicemen were killed in the attacks, and that two aircraft were 'slightly damaged' according to Interfax.
- Overnight reports and footage on social media seems to indicate that rather than attempted attacks, there were successful drone strikes on the Engels-2 base near Saratov. Defence ministry states that Ukrainian drones were intercepted in the areas around Ryazan and Saratov.
- Following the attacks, Russia launched missile barrages at Ukraine with air raid sirens sounding in major cities. The Russian defence ministry states that it hit 17 targets in the attack.
