Delayed Stade LNG terminal Expected by End of March

LNG

The delayed Stade (7.5bcm/year) LNG terminal in Germany is expected to start at the end of Q1 and Wilhelmshaven 2 (4.5bcm/year) scheduled for operation in Q2 according to Montel citing the operator Deutsche Energy Terminal.

  • The terminals were initially due to come online this winter.
  • The 174k-cbm FSRU Transgas Force is expected to arrive at the new jetty in Stade by the end of March. The FSRU is due to be replaced by Hanseatic Energy Hub’s planned onshore LNG import terminal in 2027.
  • The company expected to conduct auctions for volumes for both units in December, but only Stade saw a tender for deliveries from April.
  • DET allocated 11 regasification slots at its Stade FSRU import terminal after capacity auctions on December 11 and 14 for in total 15 regasification slots.
  • Further auctions for both short-term and long-term capacity are planned for all four DET FSRU terminals in April 2024.
