Dem VP Candidate Harris Cancels Travel After Aide Tests +ve For COVID-19

US

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's campaign manager has stated that vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris has curtailed her travel plans through to sunday after one of her aides returned a positive COVID-19 test.

  • Harris' communications director Liz Allen, as well as a member of flight crew on the VP's plane who is not part of the campaign, tested positive for the virus.
  • The campaign says that Harris was not in close contact with either individual for two days prior to their positive tests. Harris is not required to self-isolate according to the campaign, but is cancelling all travel out of 'an abundance of caution'.
  • Harris will return to in-person campaigning on October 19, and in the meantime will maintain a 'robust schedule' of virtual events.
  • Harris has returned two negative COVID-19 tests, on Oct 8 and Oct 14.
