DOLLAR-YEN: Dollar opened in Asia at Y112.19 toward the upper side of the
Y111.65 to Y112.29 range witnessed yesterday, where broad-based dollar strength
was the theme, the greenback got a further boost late in the session as hawkish
John Taylor firmed as a contender for Fed chair. Regional equities and US rate
yields will be garnered for direction during the session, Nikkei futures were
last +0.28%. It is worth noting a large option expiry for today at
Y112.00($1.11bn), that may act to contain the near-term range. Key resistance
lies at Y112.33/34 (Oct13 high, 38.2% Y113.44-Y111.65), a break to expose
Y112.55 (50% fib on the same move), while support is located at Y112.05/97
(38.2%/50% Y111.65-Y112.29). Dollar-yen was last at Y112.16.
