Economist Survey Raises 2022 CPI Estimate

  • Economists raised their annual inflation forecast for Argentina this year by 4.2 percentage points to 59.2%, according to the central bank’s monthly survey published Friday:
    • Monthly inflation seen at or above 3.6% through September 2022
    • Peso seen at 154/USD by end of 2022
    • -12-month peso forecast rises by 4.9 pesos to 168/USD in the survey for March
    • Central bank key rate seen at 44.5% by end 2022
    • Economy seen growing 3.2% in 2022, 2.1% in 2023 (All BBG)
  • The Federation of Argentine Transportation starts an indefinite grain-trucking strike while the government implements its two new price control programs.
  • Argentina to Offer Notes, Bonds, Boncer Basket on April 12
