EdF Sticks With 2023 Nuclear Output Target Despite Strike

EdF is sticking with this year’s nuclear production target in France of 300-330TWh, despite extensive strike action in March and April, which weighed on output, EdF spokesperson said.

  • Nuclear generation in France in March stood at 25.3TWh, down by 5.9% year on year.
  • Output in Q1 stood at 84.9TWh, down by 7.4% year on year, due to extended outages and strike action.
  • Increased nuclear unavailability due to strike action weighed also on French natural gas reserves, which fell to a low of around 27% in early April, compared with the EU’s average of around 55%, AGSI data showed.
