Eesti Gas To Buy LNG Cargo for End-November Delivery

Eesti Gas has purchased an additional LNG cargo from the US for end-November delivery to cover Finland’s gas consumption, following the shut down of the Balticconnector gas pipeline earlier this month, Margus Kaasik, Chairman of the Management Board of Eesti Gaas, said.

  • “The market can handle the situation with Balticconnector, and based on the Inkoo terminal, it is possible to cover Finland’s gas consumption – gas and tankers are available in America and Europe, additional cargoes can be ordered quite quickly, and the Inkoo terminal already has past experience operating against the ongoing gas demand,” Kaasik said.
  • The terminal at Inkoo is offering six regasification slots this winter, Gasgrid said last week. Each slot is for a maximum capacity if 800GWh and provisional delivery windows are Dec 9-10, Dec 26-27, Jan 11-12, Jan 27-28, Feb 12-13 and Feb 28-29.
