MNI BRIEF: Campos Neto- Good Brazil CPI Contrasts With US Pain
Central Bank of Brazil Governor Roberto Campos Neto said there's no mechanical relationship between US and Brazil decisions.
Central Bank of Brazil Governor Roberto Campos Neto said Wednesday Brazil's inflation report is "good news" and comes in contrast to a "quite bad" U.S. report on consumer prices.
"We said we had a view that the scenario hadn't changed substantially. The reason for changing the policy guidance is that uncertainties have increased. One of the uncertainties was the process of American disinflation, and another was domestic inflation. We had good news here and bad news abroad," he said in an interview for a Globonews TV show. He also said that there's no mechanical relationship between the monetary policy decisions of Brazil and the United States.
