Employees Consider Strike Action At BP’s Rotterdam Refinery

BP’s union member workers at the Rotterdam refinery are considering strike action over 6% pay rise, a labour union spokesperson told Bloomberg.

  • Union members are demanding a 6% salary increase by 1 January, while BP has offered a pay rise of 5% and a one-time payment of €4,000 in its final proposal.
  • The refinery is one of the largest refineries in Western Europe and processes 400kbpd of crude oil with product exports to countries such as Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Italy, England and the United States.
  • France has been facing continuing strike action at sites of TotalEnergies.
