and utilities (+1.8%).  
- Employment in service sector +24.6K MoM; driven by wholesale/retail 
trade (0.8%) and information (+1.9%).
- Total hours worked +2.3; the fastest gain since November 2018. 
CANADA DATA: Jan. Trade Balance -C$1.47B vs. Forecast -C$0.71B 
- Jan. exports -2% MoM to C$48.1B; -3.1% in volume terms. 
- Imports -0.5% MoM to C$49.6B; -0.5% in volume terms.
- Exports of motor vehicle/parts (-4.1) vs. imports (-1.2%) both on 
temporary shutdowns and Oshawa GM closure. 
- Exports of energy products (-1.7%) mainly on declined exports on 
natural gas (-26.2%) and coal (-23.6%).
- Jan. decline in consumer goods imports (-6.3%) mainly drove the 
monthly imports decline. 
- Imports of energy products +7.6% on higher crude oil imports +26.4% to 
C$2B; highest since 2014. 
- Total exports -0.5% YoY vs. imports -4.9%; the fastest in a decade.
