Erdogan backs Russia Plan for Physical Gas Hub in Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan backs the Russian plan to set up a physical gas hub in Turkey according to state run Anadolu Agency on Friday.

  • He wants his government to quickly present implementation plans. “There is no such thing as waiting here.”
  • Russian President Putin proposed gas flows to southern Europe via Turkey following the disruption to the Nord Stream supplies.
  • Erdogan said a new distribution hub could probably be established in Thrace, a north western region near Bulgaria.
