Eskom Leadership Hangs In Balance, Gov't To Tackle Avian Flu

  • Eskom halted rolling blackouts in parts of the Eastern and Western Cape hit by floods "to ensure that the technical teams restore the supply of electricity safely".
  • The government is planning to fast-track the use of vaccines to combat avian flu which has taken its toll on the local poultry sector, pushing food prices higher.
  • The SARB will publish its leading indicator at 08:00BST/09:00SAST. Separately, the National Planning Commission will release its review of the national development plan.
