EU Launches First Mid-Term Gas Tender

The EU is launching the first mid-term tender on Thursday in which buyers will be able to submit their demand for seasonal six-month period with a minimum of 1,800GWh for LNG and 30,000 for NBP per period from April 2024 to October 2029, it said in a statement.

  • Buyers will be able to submit their demand on AggregateEU for seasonal six-month periods, from April 2024 to October 2029 with the first scheduled to begin on Feb 15.
  • PRISMA, on behalf of the European Commission, is introducing the tenders “to address the growing demand for stability and predictability among participants.”
  • The tenders are intended to support industrial consumers in exploring additional trading options under a pseudonym and support sellers in identifying buyers interested in longer term trading.
