EU LNG Imports Rose to 99.21 mt in 2023: Kpler

European LNG imports reached an all-time high in 2023 and increased 5% year-on-year according to Kpler assisted by the new European regas capacity.

  • EU imported a total of 99.21 mt in 2023 compared with 94.44 mt in 2022.
  • Supplies originating from the US increased from 41% in 2022 to 44% in 2023.
  • The year saw a rapid build-out of LNG import capacity within the EU with the addition of eight new LNG receiving terminals since the end of 2022.
