European Stocks Off Early Highs

European equities have come sharply off early highs, with negative Brexit headlines dominating.

  • The overnight session was marked by regional holidays, and an unprecedented outage on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. U.S. futures have held up relatively well as market participants continue to eye potential for COVID fiscal stimulus.
  • European stocks are mixed, with the German Dax up 9.35 pts or +0.07% at 12765.83, FTSE 100 up 35.57 pts or +0.61% at 5901.27, CAC 40 up 13.86 pts or +0.29% at 4816.59 and Euro Stoxx 50 up 3.9 pts or +0.12% at 3196.29.
  • U.S. futures are higher, with the Dow Jones mini up 200 pts or +0.72% at 27865, S&P 500 mini up 24 pts or +0.72% at 3375.75, NASDAQ mini up 101 pts or +0.89% at 11507.
