Exxon Mobil’s Refineries In France Are Still Operating

OIL

Exxon’s Gravenchon and Fos refineries in France are still operating, according to Charles Amyot, CEO of the firm’s local unit, however, he gave no specifics on how much operations are reduced.

  • There are very few strikers at Gravenchon, Amyot said.
  • “The problem is essentially a logistics one,” he added. That is both in terms of crude supply and distribution of products through depots or by pipeline, he said.
  • Shortages at some service stations in southern Brittany and in the Bouches du Rhone area have been caused by terminal blockades, which has led to panic buying, he added.
  • Previous reports suggested throughput at the Gravenchon site has been reduced due to lack of crude supply from the port of Le Havre, while deliveries at Fos are disrupted because of protests.
