Finance Ministry Only Focusing on Utilities in New Windfall Tax

  • Deputy Finance Minister Artur Sobon said Poland’s Finance Ministry is currently only working on the windfall tax proposal for power utilities and fossil fuel companies, speaking to reporters in Lublin.
  • This means it is not working on the proposal presented by the State Assets Ministry, which according to initial statements would affect all companies, not only those in energy industry
    • Sobon stated “we’re not working on it yet because we don’t know the draft law”.
