Flows of Iraq Oil from Ceyhan Returning to Normal: SOMO

Loadings of Iraq oil from Ceyhan are “getting back to normal” according to Mohammed Saadoon, deputy director general of SOMO.

  • The port, which normally handles more than 1mbpd of crude, most of it from Azerbaijan and Iraq, was shut on Monday for safety checks following the quakes.
  • Loadings from Quay 3 at Ceyhan have started, and the other two quays are set to resume on Friday after maintenance.
  • A small volume began flowing from Kirkuk to Ceyhan on Thursday and is set to gradually rise to normal levels.
  • Exports of Azeri oil from Turkey’s port of Ceyhan will be halted until late next week according to Bloomberg yesterday.
