Foreign Min-Saudi Will Be 'Reliable Source Of Energy' After BRICS Entry

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan speaking at the BRICS summit following the invite to membership extended to Saudi Arabia and others. Minister states that KSA "Will continue to be a reliable source of energy." Adds that KSA, "has efficient tools to stabilise the energy market."

  • States that Saudi Arabia is "Looking forward to developing more cooperation with BRICS nations". Stresses "the importance of activating collective and multilateral action," and says Saudi is "keen to exercise its responsibilities to sustain international cooperation."
  • With the accession of six new countries the expanded BRICS bloc will contain six of the world's top 10 oil producers, raising the bloc's relevance to geopolitical, economic, and energy interests significantly.
