Freeport LNG Shipments Potentially Face Year End Delays: Bloomberg Sources

Freeport LNG has told buyers it will likely cancel shipments for November and December as work continues on repairs and regulatory approvals according to Bloomberg sources.

  • The Bloomberg sources said that Freeport LNG had told customers the November restart had become challenging.
  • Freeport LNG have refused to confirm a timeline in its latest correspondence with the market. “Our work of progressing towards the restart of our liquefaction facility continues. That work includes obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals required for the restart of our facility,” Heather Browne, a Freeport LNG spokesperson, said by email Monday.
  • A longer term outage at Freeport could complicate European plans to lean heavily on LNG imports this winter to move away from Russian flows.
