French Power Export Availability Rises

POWER

France has raised its power transmission capacity for cross-zonal trading last week after RTE’s interconnection capacity for cross-zonal trading had fallen to 40% from mid-March to mid-April, Creg told Montel this week.

  • “Available capacity has been gradually increased and last week, on average, around 70% of the capacity of RTE’s network installations was made available for trading with Belgium, Germany and the other countries in the Core region,” said Creg.
  • This is in line with other network operators, Creg added.
  • Another round of French power export curbs are scheduled for August-October this year, RTE said previously.
  • Power export curbs went as deep as 8GW, traders told Montel.
