French Refinery Strikes Continue Monday

Strikes at French oil refineries and storage sites are to continue today according to the latest from union officials.

  • The strikes have been dragging on for around two weeks now, impacting both TotalEnergies and ExxonMobil sites – knocking out around 60% of domestic refining capacity.
  • Almost a third of France's petrol stations had problems getting deliveries of at least one fuel product on Sunday, up from 21% the day before according to the government.
  • The French government has been tapping domestic oil product stocks to try and cover the shortfall being caused by the refinery strikes.
