Fresh Cycle Lows For Futures

JGBS

The broader core fixed income impulse dragged JGB futures lower in overnight trade, back below the 150.00 mark, with the contract closing a touch above worst levels of the day after registering fresh cycle lows. Note that U.S. Tsys have stabilised a little, which may help JGB futures at the re-open.

  • Q4, P GDP headlines the local docket on Tuesday, with a swift bounce back from the Q3 contraction expected (BBG median looks for +1.5 Q/Q & +6.0% annualised). We will also see BoJ Governor Kuroda make an appearance in the Diet (00:00 London/09:00 Tokyo). Elsewhere, 5-Year JGB supply is due.
