Futures A Touch Higher Early This Week

JGBS

The geopolitical tension centring on Afghanistan and Tokyo's reaction to the latest round of U.S. Tsy/after-hours JGB futures firming has allowed the post-Tokyo bid to extend a little, with futures last +14, albeit a touch off of the early Tokyo highs.

  • Benchmark cash JGBs are typically 1.0-2.0bp richer on the day at typing.
  • There hasn't been anything in the way of notable, lasting reaction to firmer than expected domestic prelim Q2 GDP data (which was driven by private consumption and business capex).
