Futures Tick Higher Overnight, Thin Docket On Monday

JGBS

The bid in longer dated U.S. Tsys allowed JGB futures to add 6 ticks to Tokyo settlement levels during the final overnight trading session of last week.

  • There has been little in the way of major news flow observed over the weekend. This morning saw a Nikkei source report suggest that the Japanese gov't will set up a Y100bn fund in '22 which will aim to support technology linked to economic security, including semiconductors, batteries and AI. The report noted that the gov't is expected to outline the details of the fund when it compiles its draft budget for FY22.
  • There is nothing of any real note slated on the local docket on Monday.
