GILT SUMMARY: Gilts are flying as anticipation of a near-term Brexit deal have
diminished greatly.
- The Dec 18 Gilt future is up 53 ticks at 122.35, near day's high of 122.41.
- 10-Yrs outeperforming: 2-Yr yield down 4.1bps at 0.742%, 5-Yr down 4.5bps at
1.027%, 10-Yr down 4.7bps at 1.444%, and 30-Yr down 3.2bps at 1.892%.
- Short Sterling up 5-6 ticks along strip Dec19-beyond.
- Resistance to PM May's reported deal proposal appeared to grow over the
weekend, with Brexiteers, DUP, and Remainers all finding reason to fight it.
- EU reportedly rejected the latest proposal presented by PM May, with reported
threats of further impending cabinet resignations.
- Independent reported May has been forced to abandon plans for an emergency
cabinet meeting to approve a Brexit deal.
- Lots of key UK data out this week, including Labour market data Tuesday, Oct
inflation Weds, and retail sales Thurs. None today though.
